Camp Canine

We've used Camp Canine in Ashland twice. Once for one week, once for four days. Both times we were quite happy. Our dog got plenty of exercise, played with other dogs, and improved her socialization skills.

Stay Away from this place. Our dog got seriously ill at this place and they didn't do much of anything except attribute it to homesickness. The dog was non-responsive for 1+ days here - wouldn't eat, drink or move at all. when we picked her up, we had to take her right to the vet.

I use McNeil Veterinary Clinic in Sudbury. I have a Doberman mix(10) as well a Golden Retriever (7). They do a great job, I especially like the fact that there is a Veterinarian nearby at all times, she lives there.

Dog Walking
Canine Camp--Heidi Frank
http://www.caninecamp.net
Our dog walker is looking to expand her business in Framingham and in surrounding areas. Heidi Frank, owner of Canine Camp, has been our dog walker for several years now and she and her employee Heather have been great with Sammy, our head case black lab. The time they have spent with Sammy on socialization has had a very positive effect on a wonderful dog who came to us with a few dog/dog interaction issues. So if anyone is in need of a dog walker, or is considering such a service, I strongly recommend Heidi and Canine Camp. They offer additional pet services, also, which Heidi can explain when you give them a call.

Subject: [framcom] Recommendation: Flying Fur on Nicholas Rd EXCELLENT Dog Groomer
I wanted to pass this on re: Flying Fur: I brought my 4 year old pug to Flying Fur and was very impressed at the quality of grooming there. I was happy using the same groomer for 10 years with another dog and really hate change but tried Flying Fur because of a life change situation and was extremely happy!!! My pugs nails were done perfectly. She was shedding ridiculously but it is obvious the groomer was able to get a lot of her undercoat off of her. She actually looks younger!!!!! I was also very happy with the 1 hour turn around option and I would have paid more than they charged for such a tremendous job!

We had a great experience with the new groomer that just opened up in Saxonville: Flying Fur. They took over the site that's held two other groomers in the time we've been in Framingham. I hope they have more success, because we were thrilled with them.
Our two English Springer Spaniels had a run in with a skunk about 6:30 in the morning. Given the cold, we couldn't bathe them outside, and I really didn't want to try to bring them into the house and risk spreading the skunk smell even worse. Flying Fur fit us in, and we walked the dogs right over.
I was impressed with the staff's professionalism, and the facility was spotless. Due to the nature of the drop off, I forgot to mention that one of my dogs has had cruciate ligament surgery and limps on and off. Most people don't notice. Well, I got a call a few hours later making sure the limp was normal behavior. Impressive! Both dogs came back looking great, and amazingly, smelling great. When we had them cleaned after their last skunking two years ago, they smelled for months. The dogs were clearly happy and well treated. And the price was very reasonable. The staff was also exceptionally responsive and, at our suggestion, will begin carrying our pet food (Innova), as it fits in with their natural pet food lines. Definitely stop in and check them out!

Puppy Luv Studio

I think you're thinking of Christine Love @ Puppy Luv Studios. She's fantastic. She groomed our old dog for 13 years and will now be taking care of our new puppy.
Sarah Donovan 2/21/09
Agreed - we've brought our Shih Tzu to Christine at Puppy Luv a few times. She's very conscientious and does a great job. If Flying Fur weren't a lot closer we'd keep going to Puppy Luv.
Bill Greenberg 2/21/09
I think so too. We have been going to Christine for a while now, and she does a good job, and our cockapoo seems to like going there. We have an appointment next week, and no plans to go anywhere else. I recommend her.

I second the recommendation for Christine. She's been grooming my mini Schnauzers since I moved to Framingham a dozen years ago.
My dogs get SO excited when I tell them they're going to get their hair cut! There's no better recommendation than that!

Please call Jan Slocum The Pet Nanny. Jan gives personnel home care to her customers' pets. I have several clients that use her and rave about her. Jan is insured and bonded. Please call me if you have any questions.

I highly recommend Jan Slocum. She's been our pet sitter for our two cats for a few years now and we feel very comfortable with her. Our cats are also relaxed when we return which is very telling.

Ditto on the Jan Slocum recommendation! Excellent service, reliable, great with my dog and cat!

Jon and Nicole from Animal Companions are great! They came every night faithfully to give my cat a pill for 2 weeks. They were both really good with my two cats. They're very nice too. I don't know if they board animals though, but they'll come to your house to take care of them.

I think this started out asking about cats, and I didn't think he did cats (he does!) so I didn't mention him earlier, but I would be remiss without also giving a shout out to Tony Coutlis of AerobicDog. Tony is absolutely fantastic. He actually hooked us up with Jan quite a while back when he was booked. Together, they are our dog watching team. We always have one or the other, and the dogs love them both.
