CV's Bark Mulch
CV's was a little bit more expensive but without the attitude. Also, CV's sells only the true hemlock (which is better for the flower beds) not the dyed stuff.

D & D Mulch
I had called D&D's because I had ordered from them last year and asked for a price quote for 8 yds. The girl that answered the phone was so put off that I asked her to calculate the total price for me (she was tisking and sighing, etc.... and then mumbled under her breath that "she couldn't believe that I was asking her to do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Where has customer service gone?

Just to be sure everyone knows...D and D also sells the true hemlock.
I've bought from them for several years, including this year, and I never talked to anyone with an attitude. I find that my attitude toward a clerk has a great deal to do with the attitude I get back.

I have to say, I too have purchased mulch from D&D for years, and encountered nothing but the most pleasant service and the highest quality mulch.
It also seems to me that while it is certainly a good thing to try and patronize local businesses, I learned during the 9 years I lived in Natick that there are a surprising number of business located in Natick that are owned by Framingham residents and vice versa, so you never know where your money is actually ending up. Good value and good service should be rewarded, wherever they happen to be located.

Since the warm weather has finally arrived, I would like to recommend a local supplier of Mulch, Stone & Loam, who I dealt with recently, and found them to be a pleasure to deal with. The supplier is Howard's Mulch & Sheds, which is located on RT 9 near the intersection of Maynard St. The owner's name is Howard Cahill, who I found was more than willing to bend over backwards for his customers. He offers fast delivery, and a great selection of quality products. You won't be disappointed.
Sincerely,

I would highly recommend Howard's of Framingham. We've purchased mulch, loam, and a shed from him over the past 4 years. He's honest, hardworking and enjoyable to work with. Kimberly Dallas 5/25/07
