OB/Gyn
Woman’s Health Associates

They're not doctors, but I can highly recommend the midwifery practice at Women's Health Associates; they see patients at the clinic on Rt. 9 and deliver babies at NWH. Feel free to contact me off list if you would like more specific information about my experience with this practice.

I highly recommend Women's Health Associates. They have both a midwifery practice and good sized OB practice. Their Birthplace birthing center closed a while back so all deliveries are at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Both the midwives and doctors work in tandem with each other. I had my 3rd child through their practice. I highly recommend the midwives and Dr. Ann Dolloff in particular.she is very kind and thorough. Here is a link to their practice. I will e-mail you off list with more details.
Thank you,

I have been seeing Dr. Phyllis Scherr at Newton-Wellesley Hospital for the past 6 years. She is an excellent OB/GYN, a compassionate human being, and an intelligent and sensitive doctor. I have had very few doctors that come close to her in quality of care.

Pediatricians
Framingham Pediatrics
125 Newbury Street, Suite 300, Framingham
http://www.framinghampediatrics.com/
Dr. Margaret Crawford with Framingham Pediatrics is our pediatrician and I cannot say enough good things about her. She has a wonderful bedside manner both with kids and parents. She listens to us as parents and doesn't make us feel like we're nuts or overreacting to every little issue that arises with our son (aka first time parent-itis.)
We have been very pleased with Framingham Pediatrics overall. We have been very happy with all but one of the other pediatricians in the practice who we have seen or talked to on the phone when Dr. Crawford hasn't been available. The nurses there are also terrific - we haven't met or spoken with one who hasn't been knowledgable or had good bedside manner with us and our son. The front desk staff is also great and they do a terrific job of keeping things moving and getting you in and seen by a Dr. or nurse when appropriate.

We, too, use Framingham Pediatrics and have been extremely happy with the practice in our 7+ years of working with them. Our pediatrician is Dr. Robin Hicks, and she is fabulous: patient, knowledgeable, open minded about wholistic and "alternative" approaches to children's health. She is also extremely caring and goes above and beyond the call of duty (at least, by today's standards). When my infant daughter was sick last winter, Dr. Hicks called the house repeatedly to check on her.
Like the other poster who uses Framingham Pediatrics, we've had generally good experiences with other doctors we've seen or talked to when Dr. Hicks isn't available, as well as with the nurses. I also like very much that they have a regular call-in time (8:30-9 AM every week day), when you can call and talk to your doctor about things big and small. This is extremely helpful for new parents, and it saved us many a trip into the office.
In general, be sure to meet the doctors you're considering for an "interview" before making a decision. A brief conversation can give you a good sense of whether you like a particular doctor's style and whether you "click" with him/her.
Good luck,

I highly recommend Framingham Pediatrics. We've been patients at Framingham Pediatrics for 9 years, and I have had nothing but excellent experiences both with the pediatricians and nurses and with the front office staff. Our pediatricians, Dr. Robin HIcks, is wonderful--warm, caring, very up-to-date in her information and methods, and very open to families' parenting styles and philosophies. The other pediatricians I've had to deal with when Dr. Hicks wasn't available have all been excellent too.
One of the things I like about the way the practice is run is that there are call in hours, every day from 8:30-9:00 AM, which allow you to talk to your doctor about matters that may not require a visit, but which you would like some advice about. This is an invaluable service for parents of newborns, especially first-time parents, but it is something I've used over the years quite often. If your doctor is very busy that day they will ask if you want to talk to a nurse instead, but if you say that you'd rather hold for the doctor, that's fine.

Dr. Robert Lindeman
http://www.natickpediatrics.com/
61 Lincoln St suite 210
Framingham, MA
We use Dr. Robert Lindeman who just moved to the medical office building next to Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. He is fantastic. He works by himself so if you need him after hours, you always get him and he always calls back promptly. He loves kids and they love him. He always knows us whenever I call or see him...we're not just a number to him. I really can't say enough about him. We've had nothing but great experiences with him. Good luck in your search!

Primary Care
Dr. Karen Brandse
67 Union St
Natick, MA 01760
I'd like to recommend the best doctor I've ever had--Dr. Karen Brandse.
She's over at the Natick Union Hospital. She has excellent follow-through. When there's a problem, she goes through a meticulous process every time to vette how she's going to treat.

I like Paula Carbone in Sudbury. She works out of the new Emerson Medical Center.

I highly recommend Dr. Chen on 367 Union Ave in Framingham. Her phone is . She's Chinese, so she does both traditional medicine and eastern medicine. She has traditional hours as well as some evening and weekend hours. The staff there is quite nice as well.
Dr. Steven Hoffmann
61 Lincoln Street in Framingham.
My father has used Dr. Stephen Hoffmann for quite a few years. He's very knowledgeable and stay on top of everything. He's also been very good at addressing my concerns when it comes to my father's health.
He also authored the book "Under the Ether Dome: A Physician's Apprenticeship at Massachustts General Hospital."

She is fabulous, warm, proactive, well-rooted in western medicine and has a great staff. she works in an office with a chiropractor, physical therapists, massage therapists and an acupuncturist as well which makes referrals to such practitioners easy and convenient. Janine Agoglia 18 Oct 2006
Primary Caring
488 Boston Post Rd. East
Marlborough, MA 01752
Primary Caring is in Marlborough, just a little past the Sudbury line on Rt. 20 (in Village Plaza, right after the Farm Rd./Wilson St. intersection), easily accessible to residents of North Framingham. Turn right into the parking lot, looking at Kinder Care; the office is in the three-story building on the left.
The practice specializes in adult primary care (Internal Medicine), and uses a state-of-the-art electronic medical records (EMR) system from eClinicalWorks in Westborough.
Founded in 1997, Primary Caring has three doctors: Jane H. Joiner, MD (my wife); Elizabeth Westphal, MD; and Mark B. Davidson, MD. All three are on staff at the Framingham Campus of MetroWest Medical Center. All are open for new patients. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Drs. Joiner and Westphal both live in Framingham (26 years in our case!).

Suna, Jo-Ann
371 W. Central St, Natick
I recommend Dr. Jo-Ann Suna. She's located on Waverly Street near Wendy's. Her office is wonderful and so is she. The receptionists are all friendly and kind as are the nurses, and Dr. Suna is a very compassionate, caring doctor. The group of doctors in the office are all female, so if she was unavailable for an appt (which has only happened to me once- when she was on vacation), you'd be able to see another female doctor as well. I'm also pleased with the amount of wait-time in her office, or rather, lack of it. I believe the longest I have ever sat in her waiting room was 15 minutes, tops, usually less. I think she's just perfect when it comes to doctors, and I'm pretty picky!

Emil Yagudin
We love our PCP - in the strip mall where Beverly Ann's Dance Shoppe used to be, near Whimsy and that buffet place that is being renovated. He is *fantastic*. Kind, on time (!!), thorough, sharp, extremely well respected by his peers (the Chief of Neuro at Newton-Wellesley referred to him as a "brilliant diagnostician"). He practices family medicine and is Board Certified in Family Medicine (a tougher board). He keeps up on the latest everything (tests, meds, etc.) but doesn't jump on the whatever-of-the-month. His wife, Vera, runs the admin part of the office and is extremely attentive and very kind. He speaks seven languages (or thereabouts) and sees an extremely wide range of types of patients. "Doctor snobs" probably wouldn't appreciate his office locale or some of the people they may encounter in the waiting room and it would most certainly be their loss.
NB - I ran the primary care practice at BI for years and I am a *WICKED* picky person when it comes to docs. We test drove two others when we first moved here and were absolutely thrilled when we met Dr. Yagudin. In my opinion (and it comes with some experience!), his practice of medicine is superlative to many of the attendings from the BI.
Brenda Crawshaw 6/16/07
I second the recommendation of Emil Yagudin--he is very caring, very knowledgeable, doesn't over-prescribe drugs unless there's a real need for them, takes time to make sure all your questions are answered, the office is very geared to accommodating kids when their parents are in for a visit (my kids have a pediatrician as their primary), and his office is GREAT at making time to get you in in an emergency (I had strep throat this winter and they got me in an hour after I called in the afternoon). HIGHLY recommend him.
Carla Moquin 6/16/07
I used him and liked him also-he is caring and tries to listen and do a good job, however, I have just left him due to the long waits to see him-the office is used like a mini-emergency room-many immigrants seem to be using it that way. I loved the staff, too!! As far as drugs, I found him no different in that department and I did NOT like the nurse practitioner or the OB-GYN, so good luck!!!
