Schedule for the Annual Town Meeting
February 21 - Warrant articles due in the Selectmen's Office (see below for how to submit an article)
February 26 - Board of Selectmen decides what to include in warrant
March 18 - Board of Selectmen close warrant
March 21 - Background materials due in Selectmen's Office
March 28 - Warrant and back-up materials mailed to Town Meeting Members
April 1 - Annual Town Election
TBA - Meeting with all Town Meeting members to review warrant
April 29 - Annual Town Meeting commences at 7:30 PM in Upper Nevins Hall.
How To Submit a Warrant Article for Consideration by the Board of Selectmen
Articles to be considered by the Selectmen for the warrant must be submitted to the Selectmen's office by Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 5:00 PM. Town Counsel can provide assistance with proper wording, if necessary.
Articles must indicate the committee, group, or individual sponsoring the article. Boards or Committees submitting articles must indicate that the article has been approved by a majority vote of that Board. Articles may not be submitted under the name “Board of Selectmen” unless the Board of Selectmen has actually voted to sponsor the article.
