I recommend Jim Murphy of Framingham. He has done substantial build-out work in our office, and also did much work on our home expansion back in the '90s, when he was working with Paul Landers. He's honest, friendly, and knows what he's doing.

I can very highly recommend Tony Capoccia of Mass Home Services. He was just at my house this weekend and did an amazing array of things that have needed attention: from fixing a broken casement window and replacing a socket in a bathroom light fixture, to fixing my bathroom exhaust fan/light/heater unit and securing my gutters damaged from last winter's ice dam issues... as well a number of other small jobs. I am so happy to have so many things working again!
He is great at figuring out problems, leaves everything cleaner and better than when he started, and is very reasonably priced! He is fully insured and licensed.

I recently had some carpentry and painting work done by Maurico Mayer (Home Improvements). I was quite satified with the professional work that he did-it was completed as scheduled and for a reasonable price.
He does a variety of home maintenence work such as bathrooms and kitchens, finish and custom carpentry, windows and doors, siding and roofing, and other projects.

I would like to recomend Kenneth Malieswski (my brother) for carpentry work. He has been in this field for over 25 years and is a master carpenter who specializes in finish work. Ken has done numerous projects at my house, including a recent installation of a new front doorway entrance. Ken is licensed, insured, and registered in MA.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Dan Pierce. He just completed a small job for us and did excellent work at a very reasonable price; perhaps just as important, he showed up exactly when he said he would for the estimate, returned calls in a timely manner and had excellent follow through. Once we approved everything, he moved quickly to put us on his schedule to complete the project. We will definitely hire him again.

Recently I had a couple of carpentry jobs done in the house - a handrail put in the main staircase and a bifold door put in an oddly sized basement entryway - done all wrong. So I checked with framcom and got Sonny Provencher's name and number. He came and undid the mess and put everything in correctly. More than correctly - he did a beautiful job! His price was reasonable and even more importantly he is a really nice person to deal with. I highly recommend him.

I would like to place on the list of general carpenters and all around handy man, Sonny Provencher. I have used Sonny for almost 12 years and found him to be completely honest and an excellent worker. He has a varied backround and does great work. He is neat, and his pricing is quite reasonable. He holds a Mass Construction Supervisors Lic. Give him a try, you will happy that you did.

John Teti is an honest, hardworking craftsman that can, and IS WILLING TO TAKE ON, all types of work. We have used him as a handyman on several occasions. Here is a quick list of work he has done for me so far:
- Built 9 removable, screened panels for my three-season porch
- Plastered a large hole where a plumber had repaired a burst pipe
- Repaired gutters and downspots
- Re-shingled an area of my roof where wind damage had occurred
- Repaired a pocket door whose tracks and sliders had seen better days
John, very shortly will be constructing a "built-in" bookcase for my wife. I'll report on this upon completion.
John's work is impeccable and his prices are extremely reasonable. Plus, he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I give him my highest recommendation!

We first hired John Teti from a recommendation on the wiki(. Our experience with John has been so positive that I feel compelled to share.
John has a Home Improvement license, an unrestricted Builder's license and carries liability insurance. He grew up here and lives in Framingham with his family. John is a fantastic "can do anything for your house" contractor. He performed small jobs, carpentry, and more extensive remodeling for us. He hauled wet carpet and baseboard out of our basement and is refinishing it. He can be your general contractor and handle it all, but he's not greedy, and will refer other trade specialists if that is preferred. He is accessible, communicative(picks up his phone, returns calls and emails)honest, flexible and easy to have around. He is virtually always on the job himself, so you know who you're getting. He has been courteous in scheduling and true to his timelines. His prices are more than reasonable and he really does come back if something needs adjusting. He can do anything as far as we can tell - he plows our driveway now too. I'd like to see him do well, he is hard working and really deserves this recommendation.

RE: installation of railings for front steps...question from Cathy Miles
I know a great guy who does this. He does a great job and is very reasonable. He had a set of rails made for me and installed them.
I think he moved from when I dealt with him, and that he's now in Marlboro.
