Why am I running for School Committee? I think there are big problems with accountability that need to be fixed.
I WILL BE A VOICE FOR PARENTS. I want to be the voice of average parents: parents who have realized, through the reorganization process and budget crisis, that they have no voice on the school committee and want to have an effect on decisions..
I WILL GET THE ANSWERS. Too many important questions have been ignored and left unanswered. I will be the person that gets the answers to the questions that every parent wants and needs to have answered.
I WILL ENSURE THAT PARENTS AND THE PUBLIC GET INFORMATION ABOUT KEY DECISIONS. The School Committee has a goal “make sure all stakeholders are informed and aware of key School Department information and decisions.” I am committed to closing the communication gap between School Committee and the parents in the School District..
I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE HARD DECISIONS. I am not running for School Committee to make friends. It’s not a popularity contest. It’s more important to make the right decisions. Hoping things will change and avoiding difficult decisions is not a strategy for making good decisions.
If you want to change the direction of the School Committee, vote for Larissa Combe TWICE. Write me in for BOTH the 1-year seat and the 3-year seat.
Stickers are available for people to place on the ballot:
- Place the sticker in the spaces provided beneath the list of candidates for both the 1-year seat and the 3-year seat. If you do
- not have a sticker with you, write-in Larissa Combe, 218 Warren Rd. Framingham.
- Fill in the oval next to the sticker. If you do, the vote tabulator will segregate the ballot for hand-counting after the polls close.
About me:
- I am the only candidate for School Committee who lives on the Southside of Framingham. No one currently serving on the School Committee lives south of route 9.
- I think a parent’s most important job is to make sure that their child gets a strong education.
- I have a BA in psychology from Framingham State. I started out in Early Childhood Education, and completed my student teaching.
Currently, I am a full-time mother of 2 preschool children and a 4th grader at McCarthy Elementary School.
- I enjoy spending time with family, running, reading, and swimming.
I am very involved with Framingham United Soccer Club and McCarthy Elementary School PTO.
