I've gone to this restaurant numerous times, and have never been disappointed. Food is outstanding, some of the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. Hot & sour soup is one of my favorites, just the right combination of hot and sour! This has quickly become the favorite of many of my friends and work colleagues (in fact, it's the place we often take prospective job candidates to impress upon them that the area has great cuisine :-) )

This is authentic Chinese cuisine (so says a colleague whose wife is from Taiwan), so there are a number of unfamiliar items on the menu, and even the ones you recognize are probably prepared a little differently than you're used to. But in a good way! Chicken with cashews is a treat, I'm also a fan of the yu xiang. One thing to note is that there are not a lot of light/healthy items on the menu; even most of the tofu dishes are deep fried.

This isn't a place for a leisurely, romantic, quiet dinner -- noise level is usually fairly high, and there are often lots of families with kids running around. Great place to take kids who are reasonably adventurous eaters. Service is brisk. If you want to go on a weekend, go early, especially Saturday nights when it's crowded.

Highly recommended.

We go out for Chinese food quite a lot. I have been to the Sichuan Gourmet a few times. One time I went with a couple of Chinese people who wrote down what they wanted for the table, and the food that came was very different from what's on the menu. I think the Sichuan is the best place for spicy in Framingham.
