:) My family has used Gentle Giant numerous times over the last eight years...and find them to be superbly professional from start to finish...couldn't be more pleased or relieved (that all went so smoothly) at completion.

:) I would highly (and I mean extremely highly) recommend Bushell Piano Movers. It's a company that sells and moves pianos but also do furniture moving. When I moved to Saxonville, I had furniture located at my brothers (in Marlborough) and fathers (in Framingham). They showed up on time and had everything moved in less than 4 hours. Their guys were fantastic.

I went with them because they didn't have a whole bunch of extra "hidden" charges (a number of companies I talked to had a minimum number of hours PLUS travel time that was not included in the minimum hours). They're fully insured. For my move they sent 2 trucks with 4 guys. To do a pick up in Marlborough, another in Framingham and to move everything into Saxonville cost me $330 (just this past July). They were absolutely outstanding. Some of the guys who do the moving are Framingham Firemen.

You can call them at 508-877-2227. You won't be sorry.

:) I second the recommendation for Bushell Piano Movers. They have done in-town moves for us multiple times in the past as well and we have always been extremely happy with the quality of their service.

We used Carmel- twice in fact-- first time they had different owners (over 8 years ago) and we were not huge fans. HOWEVER the new owners rock! We used them 2 years ago to move and they were amazing. Responsive with time, responsible, friendly and were even more incredible at the 11th hour and helped us pack. I can't say enough great things about Vivo and his crew-- and I know I am not the only one!

We used Carmel Movers and moved within Framingham. They are also local (in Framingham) and were excellent. Their prices were very reasonable and yes, they switched owners a few years ago so you will definitely see some great things from them! They really know how to get it all done.

Attention to detail and reasonable, I would highly recommend this Company.

They recently moved one of my best friends and were terrific!

<:( While I'm sure everyone has an off day once in a while I will never forget my experience with this company. It is not enough to say I would not recommend Carmel - I provide you with just some examples of my experience with them.

To start off we were only moving 2 houses down the road and only used them for the bigger stuff (washer/dryer/frig/china cabinet/...) They sent 4 movers to the house. The first bad sign was when I heard a yell and then saw our washing machine making its way down our front steps under its power (didn't do to bad until it hit the walkway.) What I eventually realized was that the crew they sent did not all speak a common language. The leader spoke Russian and English. Another guy spoke Russian, Spanish, and English, and another one only spoke Spanish. So when the leader was barking out instructions in Russian, the 2nd guy had to translate into Spanish for the 3rd guy. I believe this translation delay was how our washing machine "got away" from the movers.

I know its ridiculous - but if I ever move again - I will ask if the entire moving crew speaks a common language.

When they started working on the frig - I mentioned to one of the guys that I thought when it was first delivered to the house they had to take the doors off the hinges to get it through the doorway. The guy relayed this info to the leader (whom I now affectionately call the stubborn old goat) who basically barked back at the guy telling him to ignore me. After spending at least half an hour trying to get the frig out the doorway, the stubborn old goat took out a tape measure from his pocket and measured the door and doorway and then came to the brilliant conclusion that the doors needed to be taken off the hinges. Once the doors were off the four of them proceeded to take the frig down the stairs with the guy who needed the 2nd translation being underneath it. Had the frig decided to buck loose like our washing machine I believe the guy would have been flattened because the lag time for the 2nd translation of "get out of the way" would have been too long.

When they did get the truck loaded, the truck's engine wouldn't turn over. I actually had to jump their truck myself.

As items started coming into the new house one of the movers had this constant habit of hitting the ceiling with an item each time he came in the door of the house. After the 2nd hit, I yelled at him to get out the house - he was then relegated to just taking items off the truck.

I did call the office about the experience - but I really felt my complaints fell on deaf ears.

I DO NOT recommend Carmel Movers.

B) I referred Carmel Movers to a seller client of mine recently moving from Framingham to Florida with a very tight schedule. Carmel delivered as promised and my client was very satisfied with the service.

Bob Zakrzewski - Keller Williams Realty 11/14/2008

I highly recommend Carmel Movers. I have used them myself many times and have also referred them to many happy clients of mine.

They are careful with all possessions and wrap and pack everything so well. They show up when they say and finish in the time stated. Their prices are extremely reasonable and are usually well below the competition. I have heard nothing but rave reviews about them. I can't say enough about the moving jobs they have done for my own family - they re truly the best! They have a huge storage facility/building in Hyde Park and their storage rates are also very reasonable.

DN Van Lines

508-872-2182

:) I used DN Van Lines three times to move commercial restaurant equipment, no less, and they were OUTSTANDING. My DH and I are extremely picky about just about everything on earth and we loved them so that speaks volumes. The owner, Oded Carmi, is exceptionally professional, very organized, really listens to concerns and details and they have a real crew, not just guys they hire for a day here and there. They are very careful with your belongings and will follow any special instructions you give them. We were impressed.

Brenda Crawshaw 1/12/07

If you want the hands down absolute BEST movers EVER, call DN Van Lines. These guys are nothing short of AMAZING. They moved some very heavy and expensive commercial restaurant equipment for me and treated everything as if it were my grandmother's china. They moved a ton of smallwares and took every bit as good a care of them as they did the pricey stuff. I used them a total of four times so far and would NEVER consider using another company. Not ever. If you want more information feel free to email me directly.

Father and Son

http://www.fatherandsonmoving.com
508-872-8446

:) When we moved from Newton to Framingham 2 years ago, we used Father and Son. They gave me the best price, as reasonable as is possible, I guess; and they did a great job. Moved quickly (you are charged by time, too, as I recall), and no damages.

I think we saved ourselves a lot of money by only hiring a professional company for the large, heavy items/furniture. We rented a large U-Haul for a day and a couple of strong teenagers for $75 apiece ( if I recall correctly.) They moved all of our boxes and more manageable furniture -like tables and chairs, etc. They were able to handle just about everything. Movers did beds and bureaus, couch, large appliances.

Gentle Giant Moving Co., Inc.

Somerville, MA 02143
(800) 466-8844 (800) GIANT-MEN
http://www.gentlegiant.com/

:) I have used Gentle Giant Moving Company several times and have found them to be excellent. The movers are courtious, efficient, and very careful in handling your belongings.

About a year ago, they transported a piano from Buffalo, NY to Framingham for me...and it arrived on time and in excellent condition. I think their prices are very competitive and their customer service is outstanding.

Sandra Cleveland 1/12/07

:) We used Gentle Giants for our last local move, and had a terrific experience. Our previous move had been less than spectacular, so we had a point of comparison. They probably will be on the high side of the price range, but the level of customer service you get is worth it.

Nomi Sofer 5/30/07

:) A few years ago we used Gentle Giant for our 'around the corner' move. Someone recommended them to us. They weren't the cheapest estimate that we got, but they showed up on time and nothing was broken or damaged. I would use them again.

Darrin McCarthy 5/30/07

We used Gentle Giant two years ago and were very happy. They were fast, careful and respectful of our new home and our things. They're not the cheapest, but they're not outrageous.

Isaac's Relocation

http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/
800.466.7034

:) Just to add to the list, we were thrilled with the service we got from Isaac's Relocation when we moved to Framingham a few years ago. They were highly competitive on the bid (though not the cheapest), and actually came in *under* the quoted price, despite sending a large truck and three movers. (Who, I should add, showed up about 5 minutes early and tidied up after themselves.) Ours was not a small move, and we experienced no damage whatsoever.

We've given several referrals on their behalf, and have heard only positive feedback. Good luck with your move.

:) My brother-in-law liked these people so much when he moved that I called them when I moved out of state. And again when I moved back. Both moves were flawless and reasonable.

Metro Van Lines

31 Union Ave.
Sudbury, MA
800.883.7765

:) We used Metro Van Lines' Lew Gamerman and were very happy with them.

We moved a relatively short distance but the price was right, nothing was damaged and the movers were courteous.

Nick Ramos

NES Solutions
508-615-4502
nickramos@fastmail.fm

I just completed a move into Framingham and used, for the second time this year, a mover that I feel compelled to recommend highly to anyone in need of Moving Services. The first time he just unloaded my truck, and this past Friday he loaded, transported and unloaded all my belongings. (At the beginning location, he even remembered some items that were not mine..........from January!)

Nick Ramos of NES Solutions is honest, reliable, and affordable. For this past move, he promised to arrive at 8am. He and a very nice co-worker arrived early, (at 7:45a.m.), proceeded to calmly and with great efficiency and speed move my belongings into his fully-loaded moving truck, drive to my new residence here in Framingham, (he literally arrived 2 minutes after I pulled into the driveway!) and with the same ease, unloaded and placed carefully all my belongings. His rates are extremely well-priced and I highly recommend him. Please let him know I referred you.

Yours truly,
