Alan's Landscaping

I highly recommend Alan's Landscaping in Northboro. They do a lot of commercial work, but their backyard landscaping is just fantastic and their rates are very reasonable. Check them out at www.alanslandscaping.com... their portfolio is online. Or just call Billy at (508) 393-6682.

John Guarino
(508) 788-6941
He did our front steps and front walkway. He even had to deal with a completely unexpected structural issue and came up with a brilliant solution. He does great work and is extremely prompt and courteous.

We used John Guarino, right of the Wiki. He was prompt, cleaned up afterwards, did a very nice job and we were so pleased we have recommended him to others, including close friends!

Damien Kelly
508-872-2022
I would highly recommend Damien Kelly. He is a real craftsman, artist and genuinely nice guy. His quote was very detailed, returned all my calls, he came when scheduled, cleaned up daily. He came back last week (a year after the job was done to clean a stain I caused.
He repaired-upgraded our front steps with granite treads/landing and brick risers. I could not be more pleased with the results. Stop by 21 Donlon St. if you like.

Lyon Landscaping Nursery
(508) 533-4085 25 Bent Street Franklin, MA 02038
Alex Lyon is the owner, meticulous attention to detail and great crew. They pay attention to the prep, the base - which if not done well will result in your walkway buckling and not lasting over time.

C.L. Mendes Construction
(508)-250-3480
I strongly recommend John & Carlos of C.L. Mendes Construction. In the Fall they build a beautiful wall in front of my house and I have hired them back to build a walkway which is almost finished. Their price is great and they are very pleasant and respectful. They do bobcat work, masonry, patios, steps, stone walls and landscaping.

Reggie's Stone Work
(508) 460-7967
Years ago I saw and very much admired some dry stacked walls along Salem End Road and learned that Reggie's did the the work. ((508) 460-7967). They specialize in dry faced/mortar backed walls (walls that don't have cement showing on the front but have the strength and stability of mortar where it can't be seen). My grandfather built several stone walls - which were things of beauty! - and these were similarly aesthetically beautiful and very well built structurally.
I asked Reggie to come out and give me an estimate of some extensive work we would like to have donw. The other estimates that I got were all over $20K whereas Reggie's was about $14K (removal and rebuilding of two existing mortar laden walls, design and installation of two brick and bluestone steps, removal of old concrete walk and installation of set-in bluestone, removal of railroad ties and replacement with stone). This estimate was at the END of the season where you will often get a reduced price.
Alas, we have not yet done the work; it is being saved for the whole house reno when I am 156 years old.

Reggie of Reggie's out of Ashland does stunning work. He did the newly redesigned spaces outside the Historic Village Hall and the stacked stone walls outside Stonegate on Salem End Road at the Temple Street intersection. We got a quote from him several years ago (we ended up holding off on the work until we do an addition) and it was VERY competitive. (If you can wait until the fall you can usually get a little better deal.)

Renovo Landscape & Construction
www.renovoland.com
We have worked with Renovo Landscape & Construction/Design for about 15+ years for a number of projects including design/installation of our pool deck, stone planters, patio, walkways and maintenance of our irrigation system, etc.
They have also repaired masonry work of existing structures and repaired 'stains' on bricks.
Whether you work with Aldren, the owner, or any one of his personnel, you couldn't find a more responsive, professional and skilled group!
