Have eaten there once and it was quite good. We'll be going back.

I have been there and would recommend them however; I prefer Margaritas, just a short distance away at Speen Street. Their salsa is much better and I like their menu better. You will find others on this list that feel the opposite so take your pick they are both good.

My husband and I have eaten there 4 times. The food is delicious and fresh. Love the salsa. The atmosphere is clean and attractive and the waitstaff is friendly. We think it is excellent.

I've been to La Carreta once and had an enjoyable meal. Nothing that blew me away, but a pretty good straightforward Mexican meal. I would give it a B.

We have eaten there several times and really enjoy it. Their items with shredded beef, something I don't normally eat, are delicious - the beef is very tender, lean and unlike a lot of other places, I haven't yet come across any unpleasant gristle or silver skin in the meat. Their guacamole is also very good, quite chunky and rustic. Their chips aren't my faves, but I shouldn't be eating them anyway, right? Their fajitas are very good - nicely spicy but not overly hot with a LOT of flavor. They must source their meat from some very good places because it is all very flavorful and that's not common from places that serve their proteins with other very flavorful ingredients; most places will go for a lesser cost cut or provider.

I still prefer Acapulco's salsa because I am a huge cilantro fan and Acapulco's includes larger pieces and stems of the herb in their salsa. I also FAR prefer Acapulco's fish tacos; they have always been extremely fresh, very well seasoned and I love the cilantro sauce they serve with them (Framingham location only - for some odd reason the Milford and Sudbury stores serve them with something different). I also love their Queso Fresco which is probably just white cheese from a can but a girl's gotta have a couple mainstream foibles, no?

I would avoid Margarita's at all costs. I hear their salads are good but I sampled four "mexican" dishes there and they were all absolutely unpalatable and inedible. You can get better "mexican" items out of the freezer case at BJ's.

I wanted to put a plug in for the La Carretta restaurant, (the old Bickfords). I have been there three times now, always for lunch. All the food has been great, and reasonably priced for what you get. Salsa is super!. Chips are fantastic. It's the only place I have taken my parents in years where neither of them has had a complaint. Priceless.

I realize it's sometimes hard to replace an icon like Bickfords was for so many of the locals. But this place is worth a try.

I was pleasantly surprised during dinner at La Carretta this evening. We had a wonderful server, very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was clean and was decorated very nicely with slightly dimmed lighting. They have a large menu. I settled on "Mom's Arroz con Pollo". It was absolutely delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly. The rice was delicious. It was covered with large slices of fresh red, orange and yellow peppers and asparagus. It was absolutely delicious. There was a perfect amount of spice in the dish. The only thing I wouldn't order again is a margarita, it had very little tequila. They have a lunch and dinner menu.
