I had an experience with craniosacral therapy that I feel is worth sharing.
I had been struggling with painful tension in the back of my head and around my sinuses. It just wouldn't go away with anything else I did; and my chiropractor, Dr. Ann Jackman, suggested I see the craniosacral person in her center.
I can't tell you enough how therapeutic the session was in every sense of the word. Who knew that the cranial (skull) bones could move so much! For almost an hour and a half, I laid on this comfortable table with a warm heating pad and cozy blanket, in a room that begins to heal you as soon as you enter (soothing music, crystals, candle, etc.). Karen did her energy work to get the sacral fluid moving properly, and to sense my body's needs. She does "visionary" craniosacral work, which means she also picks up on what the body is communicating as far as what you need for healing. So, in addition to getting the bodywork done, it is also very emotionally therapeutic, in a most gentle, non-invasive way. She has such a "therapeutic presence" that you can't help but feel comfortable with her, and open to the healing.
With the most gentle, soothing touch, she actually helped my skull bones move to where they were supposed to be. I could feel it happening, and I could feel the tension release. I felt so, so much better after only one session, in more ways than I even hoped for.
In a nutshell, I highly recommend this type of work; and I highly recommend Karen Kuhl as the person to work with.
